Resident Health Services Director
The Residents Health Services Director is responsible for evaluating residents’ needs and assisting residents in navigating the available services that create the bridge between residential and assisted living and nursing care. This person is responsible for the programming designed to meet these needs and to develop future programs to help meet the wellness needs of the residents (including but not limited to intellectual, occupational, social, environmental, spiritual, emotional, nutritional and physical).

Compensation: $88,000 - $95,000 plus a 15% bonus potential!
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
Leadership
Promote Core Values and demonstrate a positive attitude and compassion towards residents and colleagues.
Demonstrate ability to manage in a calm, professional manner during stressful situations such as resident medical emergencies and community related disorders.
Human Resources
Provide day-to-day oversight of medication technicians and LVN staff to ensure standards are being met for delivery of these services to the community residents. Manage clinic services to include but not limited to pre-admission health screening for residents
Support for the management of chronic conditions, coordination of clinical visits by other professionals, and assistance with medications and ADLs.
Responsible for the interviewing, selection, training, supervision and performance management of all residential health services staff.
Responsible for ensuring all staff training is conducted, completed and documentation of training is maintained.
Clinical Management
Provide nursing evaluation of the residents, coordinate additional care, and communicate with medical personnel and family members, and follow-up after the emergency.
Coordinate the resident’s return including transportation, medications and a light meal upon return. Update plan of care
Provide individual and group educational opportunities for residents and staff in the area of disease prevention and management in the holistic spirit of the Lifestyle and Health Services Wellness Program.
Facilitate with other leaders in the continuum of care to identify and recommend additional services or a physical move within the continuum of care for residents whose needs have changed.
Anticipated and coordinate with the resident and family members when a significant change in the resident’s condition necessitates additional support services or a physical transfer to a higher level of care for residents whose needs have significantly changed.
Assist residents and family members by offering support in dealing emotionally with the aging process and illnesses.
Management/Administrative
Create annual plan, goals, budgets, pricing and performance standards; maintain appropriate records pertaining to the department budget; monitors and controls cost expenditures, providing justifications/explanations for variances as appropriate. Submit all appropriate billings for services provided by the department.
Plan outreach and marketing of the Resident Services program components at resident committees and meetings.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Prepare and maintain required reports, records, studies and surveys.
Network, plan, coordinate and contract with qualified educators, instructors and health professionals to provide program components.
Serve as a resource person for residents and assure that all necessary forms are prepared and informational pamphlets are distributed, including as related to risk management.
Coordinate services with other departments and involve other departments in programming as applicable.
OTHER DUTIES:
Encourage residents to take an active part in the community and in various programs.
Attend in-service training and education sessions, as needed and/or assigned.
Accept responsibility for and maintain overall confidentiality of resident information.
Comply with expectations of mandatory/regulatory requirements.
Maintain current licensure/certification/health screening as required for the position.
Participate in personal, professional growth and development activities and continuing education programs.
Be available and actively engage in support of community needs in times of emergency situations and perform duties as assigned.
Develop standard operating policies, procedures and protocols for all programs within the scope of responsibilities.
On call 24/7 in the event of resident emergency or Community disaster.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse License in good standing with the LVN Board of Nursing.
RCFE preferred
CPR, First Aid, and AED required
Five years’ experience working with seniors in long-term care, home health or other health care setting is preferable.
Five years organizational or management experience; supervising others is preferable.
Must have a passion for working with the elderly, possess strong clinical skills, and have strong customer service, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills for groups and individuals of different populations including persons with disabilities.
Must have effective organizational skills including prioritization, delegation, managing multiple priorities, time management and problem-solving.
Must possess strong interpersonal skills including motivation and behavior change encouraging maximum independence and quality of life while encompassing emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual and vocational components of wellness and chronic disease management.
Must be a self-starter and highly motivated and able to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
Requires the use of good judgment and common sense in the performance of duties.
Must be able to evaluate and respond to the needs of staff, clients, and others on a timely basis.
